It’s the land of hospitality… unless you don’t belong there.
Film Synopsis
Southern Comfort (1981) centers on a group of weekend National Guardsmen who become lost in the Louisiana swamps during military maneuvers and steal boats belonging to local Cajun trappers. As a reckless confrontation triggers violent retaliation and the squad’s lack of live ammunition leaves them increasingly vulnerable in unfamiliar terrain, fear, exhaustion, and internal conflict begin destroying the group from within. This survival action thriller examines social breakdown and human vulnerability within an isolated hostile environment, as tensions intensify, with paranoia, territorial conflict, and psychological collapse.
