Deliciously grotesque.
Shanks (1974) follows a mute puppeteer who discovers he can reanimate the dead like marionettes after the death of a reclusive scientist. When he begins using the technique on those who wronged him, the line between creation and corruption collapses into a macabre pantomime. This eerie fantasy-horror blends black comedy, surrealism, and tragedy in a uniquely unsettling tale of control and obsession.
