Film Synopsis
Secret Agent of Japan (1942) chronicles an American nightclub owner in Shanghai who becomes entangled in an espionage struggle surrounding a coded message. As rival agents compete for the information, hidden motives and uncertain loyalties place him at the center of an increasingly dangerous international conflict. This wartime espionage thriller builds its suspense around deception and divided allegiances, using its Shanghai setting to reflect the political uncertainty surrounding the Pacific on the eve of war.
