School of the Holy Beast (1974) follows a determined young woman who joins a convent in order to investigate the circumstances surrounding her mother’s death years earlier. As she becomes immersed in the institution, she witnesses brutal punishments, hypocrisy among the clergy, and a rigid system that suppresses dissent and individuality. This Japanese nunsploitation film blends religious scandal, erotic provocation, and revenge themes in a stark critique of institutional power and repression.
