Does the mind control sex or does sex control the mind?
Synopsis
Marquis (1989) centers on an incarcerated writer in the Bastille whose obscene works draw scrutiny after a fellow inmate accuses him of assault within the prison. As suspicion falls across prisoners and officials amid whispers of a concealed aristocratic crime, tensions inside the fortress intensify and escape plots begin to take shape. This surreal historical satire develops creeping unease, with sexual hypocrisy, political corruption, and revolutionary pressure driving betrayal.
