When you see a love story, it’s only a movie. When you feel it with every nerve in your body, it’s a masterpiece.
Synopsis
Last Tango in Paris (1972) centers on a middle-aged American living in Paris whose life is shattered by personal tragedy and who enters into a secret affair governed by strict rules of anonymity. As emotional dependency, sexual experimentation, and growing curiosity about one another intensify while both participants struggle with the realities of their lives beyond the apartment, the relationship becomes increasingly difficult to contain. This French-Italian romantic drama examines grief and emotional isolation within an atmosphere of psychological vulnerability, as personal boundaries erode, with desire, alienation, and self-destruction.
