Mirth! Murder! Melody! Mystery! And girls! girls! girls!
Synopsis
Lady of Burlesque (1943) centers on a rising burlesque star whose success earns both admiration and jealousy among her fellow performers. As backstage rivalries, police raids, and mysterious attacks intensify while multiple murders strike members of the company, suspicion falls on performers, stagehands, and associates connected to the theater. This musical mystery examines ambition and survival within the competitive world of burlesque entertainment, as humor and spectacle give way to danger, with murder, backstage intrigue, and amateur sleuthing.
