Synopsis
La tête contre les murs (1959) follows a directionless young man whose wealthy father has him confined to a rural psychiatric hospital after a series of reckless acts. As he forms connections with other patients and witnesses harsh treatment within the institution, repeated escape attempts and personal conflicts deepen his struggle against both authority and confinement. This French drama examines individual resistance within an oppressive system, as control breaks down, with institutional power, rebellion, and psychological constraint.
