Film Synopsis
Jovana Lukina (1979) depicts a young woman whose secluded life with her husband in Montenegro’s rocky countryside is disturbed by travellers passing their home. Drawn into the visitors’ troubles, she begins to question her apparently peaceful existence, and her resistance increasingly turns towards her marriage. This psychological drama connects domestic conflict with the constraints of patriarchal rural life, making the barren landscape integral to its portrayal of isolation.
