Synopsis
Ivanhoe (1952) centers on a Saxon knight who returns to England after the Crusades determined to free the captive King Richard while Prince John schemes to claim the throne for himself. As he rallies allies from across divided Saxon and Norman factions, tournaments, betrayals, and castle sieges stand in the way of restoring the rightful king. This British-American historical adventure blends chivalry, political intrigue, romance, and large-scale action as loyalty, honour, and justice are tested during a turbulent period of medieval England.
