Film Synopsis
French Dressing (1964) centers on a deckchair attendant in a struggling English seaside resort who devises a film festival to generate publicity for the town. After persuading a glamorous French actress to attend as its star attraction, he finds his ambitious plans threatened by a succession of mishaps and rivalries. This British comedy combines seaside farce, romantic complications, and cinematic satire with a playful contrast between French glamour and provincial English life.
