Film Synopsis
Fantomas (1964) centers on a journalist and police commissioner pursuing a mysterious master criminal whose elaborate disguises allow him to assume other identities. When the journalist publishes a fabricated interview with Fantômas, he attracts the criminal’s attention and becomes personally entangled in the escalating pursuit. This French-Italian adventure comedy combines criminal intrigue, mistaken identities, broad humor, and energetic chases in a colorful reinvention of the classic Fantômas character.

- Kino’s Blu-ray is included in the “Fantomas: Three Film Collection” box set with Fantomas Unleashed (1965) and Fantomas vs. Scotland Yard (1967). Trailers included: Fantomas Unleashed (1965), Fantomas vs. Scotland Yard (1967), OSS 117 Is Unleashed (1963), OSS 117: Panic in Bangkok (1964) and OSS 117: Mission for a Killer (1965).
- Eureka’s Blu-ray is included in the “Fantomas Returns: The Fantomas Trilogy, 1964-1967” box set with Fantomas Unleashed (1965) and Fantomas vs. Scotland Yard (1967). It contains a 60-page booklet with writing by Boris Brosowski, Llewella Chapman, Ryan Finnigan, and Holger Haase. Reissued as a standard edition without booklet (2026/08/24).
