Film Synopsis
Dr. Caligari (1989) follows a controversial psychiatrist at a secluded insane asylum who pursues radical hormone and shock-therapy experiments on her patients, believing she can cure psychological disorders by transferring traits between minds. As her methods provoke revolt among staff, resistance from loved ones, and increasingly bizarre results that blur sanity and perversion, the asylum becomes a theater of grotesque transformation and uncanny spectacle. This American avant-garde horror blends surreal expressionist visuals and psychosexual distortion in a cult-classic reimagining of the Cabinet of Dr. Caligari legacy.
