Synopsis
Breakin’ (1984) centers on an aspiring dancer whose frustration with the rigid expectations of the professional dance world leads her to discover Los Angeles’ vibrant breakdancing scene. As she forms an unlikely partnership with two gifted street dancers while overcoming artistic prejudice, fierce rivalries, and resistance from her former instructor, the trio develops a unique performance style that challenges conventional ideas about dance. This musical drama examines creativity and self-expression within a rapidly evolving cultural movement, as friendship, perseverance, and artistic innovation transform both their lives and the perceptions of those around them.
