Film Synopsis
Blackout (1950) follows an engineer awaiting eye surgery who accidentally enters a house and discovers a dead body but cannot identify the killers due to his blindness. After his sight is restored, he begins investigating the mystery and uncovers a criminal smuggling operation connected to the crime. This British crime thriller blends noir suspense, mistaken vulnerability, and investigative tension while examining perception, deception, and personal courage.

- VCI’s DVD contains no extras. It is included in the “British Cinema: Crime & Noir” box set with No Trace (1950), Home to Danger (1951), Recoil (1953), Meet Mr. Callaghan (1954) and Bond of Fear (1956). Trailers included: No Orchids for Miss Blandish (1948), The Third Man (1949), Paper Gallows (1950), Girls in Prison (1956), Dragstrip Girl (1957) and Motorcycle Men.
- Odeon’s “Double Feature” DVD contains no extras. It also includes Bond of Fear (1956) and a 4-page booklet.
