A skeptical philosophy student travels to a remote village to perform a religious ritual over a recently deceased witch. As night falls, he faces terrifying supernatural forces, including the malevolent spirit Viy, who commands dark powers. Trapped in a nightmare of horror and enchantment, he must survive the night or be doomed forever.
