Violent Playground

Film Synopsis

Violent Playground (1958) centres on a Liverpool detective reassigned to juvenile liaison work who investigates two young twins’ thefts from local shops. He becomes romantically interested in their older sister, who cares for them, while their teenage brother resists his intervention and exerts control over a neighbourhood gang. This crime drama combines police procedure with documentary-style scenes of crowded council housing and bomb-damaged streets, grounding its conflict in the children’s everyday surroundings.
