Alcatraz. Only one man has ever broken out. Now five million lives depend on two men breaking in.
Film Synopsis
The Rock (1996) places an FBI chemical-weapons specialist on an assault team sent to Alcatraz after rogue Marines take the island’s visitors hostage and threaten San Francisco with nerve-gas rockets. To navigate the prison and disarm the weapons before a ransom deadline, the authorities enlist a former British operative who once escaped from the island. This action thriller combines Alcatraz’s confined geography with expansive blockbuster staging, giving its siege narrative a rapid and increasingly destructive momentum.
