Some houses are born bad.
Film Synopsis
The Haunting (1999) concerns an insomniac who accepts an invitation to join a sleep study at the secluded Hill House after years spent caring for her mother. The organizer conceals that he is studying fear, and unexplained disturbances soon place the participants at risk. This effects-driven supernatural horror renders the mansion as an active force through vast Gothic interiors whose architecture appears to shift and awaken.
