The water-warm… The champagne-chilled… The music-soft… Then the daydream ends… and the nightmare begins!
Film Synopsis
Return from the Ashes (1965) introduces a Jewish woman returning to Paris in 1945, where she undergoes reconstructive surgery after surviving a Nazi concentration camp. Her hopes of reunion are complicated by the intimate relationship between her husband and stepdaughter, whose financial interests conflict with her return. This psychological thriller uses black-and-white widescreen photography and extended flashbacks to connect a troubled prewar marriage with a postwar struggle over trust and money.
