It mauls… it rips… it vanishes! A mammoth monstrous man-or-creature rising out of the depths beneath the city!
Film Synopsis
Phantom of the Rue Morgue (1954) depicts a criminology professor drawn into the police investigation of several violent deaths in 1870s Paris. As the unknown assailant continues to evade capture, mounting evidence implicates the professor and forces him to uncover the connection among the crimes. This Technicolor mystery-horror recasts Edgar Allan Poe’s detective story as a 3D studio spectacle, using exaggerated perspective and depth-staged action to intensify its Parisian Gothic setting.
