A recently widowed man brings his new bride to his secluded family estate, where the memory of his first wife’s mysterious death still lingers. The oppressive atmosphere is heightened by his mentally unstable mother, who insists the first wife’s spirit still haunts the house. As strange events unfold, the young bride begins to fear she may share her predecessor’s fate.
