Film Synopsis
8MM (1999) follows a private investigator hired by a wealthy widow to examine an 8mm film discovered among her late husband’s belongings that appears to document a real killing. As he traces the victim’s identity and infiltrates the underground world of illicit pornography, the investigation intensifies and exposes him to escalating danger and moral compromise. This thriller blends neo-noir bleakness, procedural inquiry, and disturbing subject matter in an examination of exploitation, obsession, and the confrontation with human cruelty.
